Bench built-ins to hide ductwork
Before bench install...
Ducts all gone..
Ceiling plaster repair
Glue injection, plaster buttons and epoxy to prep for new plaster.
And yes, this is the same ceiling after...
A custom bookcase
This was a monster in two pieces, getting it up three flights of an Old Victorian took a certain muster not unequal to the construction of it. That's David on the right he taught me something about patience that day.
I had begged him to wait a week before loading it up with books, but once installed... The bookcase sits on a 4 inch stand, the floor is fairly out of level so the base had to be scribed in place.
Handrail disguise
Air conditioning lines, electrical and drain line.
Customized "boom box" ie; Portable Audio Lab and i-pod..
Basement Boiler Room
Before photo with just the framing up:
Installing a pocket door frame onto concrete...
Add some sheetrock (cut around the pipes) Throw up some plaster (not literally) and...
(well, it looks better bigger, no really..)
Promptly thereafter, I constructed an enclosure for a treadmill, 1x6 tongue and groove pine with a pine polyurethaned bar top.
Threshold for a closet, two different heights..
Me coming out of the closet with caulk in my hand.
Before pic (crown molding)
1x4 wrapped around and then..
Two piece crown, outside miter and coped inside, oh- like this:
Simply lay flat with bottom of molding against fence, both angles set at 33.85 degrees...
Clamp with sanding sponge, follow plane of cut and start with jigsaw,
After two cuts (kerfs) from jigsaw, follow up with the coping saw..
The goal here was to construct an economical cabinet for a laundry room.
The doors are fabricated using 1/4" vinyl beadboard, biscuited 3/4" Birch Plywood wrapped with a 7/8" poplar edge frame. Fairly light in weight and less prone to warping.
Primed and ready for finish paint and doors.
