It all starts with a cut sheet - a diagram of all the pieces, where they go and in what order. This also keeps the waste down to an absolute minimum.

I was commissioned to construct an under-counter storage unit. The owner requested room for storage, appliances, cookbooks, and mail.
The "shop-space". A big challenge here was working in a space 6 feet by 8 1/2 feet. The walls were covered in plastic, and with a fan in the window, dust was exhausted to the outside.

Birch plywood scribed level to counter-top.

The doors are made up of one piece of birch - for the look of the wood grain.

The doors below were cut to center the grain pattern, like a butterfly...

I had to shoot these photos with only one coat of poly on, so it will be that much richer on Monday...

The edge veneer is 1/16" stock to match the face frame (not from a store bought roll).

I was lucky enough to be given free reign in desiging a writing table for a young man who is not only a talented guitarist, but is also into gaming, specifically - World of Warcraft. Using that as inspiration I created this:

I free-formed the legs on a table saw and customized the trim to give it a sword like look. Steel screws with rivet extruded washers add a medieval look to to the ensemble.

Frostmourn.... the Lych King has this and I took this form in creating the desk, well, as much as I could...
Same room as on the left side, this is an entertainment table I made to hold a gaming console and monitor.

Here is the finished product, I recessed the center speaker, because, well, actually, no reason - it was fun?
And yes, it was fun. It took less than a day to make and I'm happy with the result.
